The Taipei District Prosecutors' Office yesterday summoned 10 suspects for questioning on suspicion of facilitating the illegal entry of Chinese into Taiwan.
Prosecutors searched nine locations and are investigating the suspects for contravening the Act Governing Relations Between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area (臺灣地區與大陸地區人民關係條例) and document forgery.
The case involves a woman surnamed Pan (潘), who runs a dental clinic, and, together with another dentist, allegedly submitted false treatment plans to help more than 600 Chinese enter Taiwan between December 2022 and May 2023.

Despite being listed as medical visitors, many are alleged to have engaged in illegal tourism, part-time work and sex work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Several of the suspects are travel agency representatives who are accused of collaborating with the dentists to break the law.
