Tigerair Taiwan on Friday said it would open flight check-in three hours early over the Tomb Sweeping Day long holiday next week, advising travelers to arrive at the airport in advance.
Large crowds are expected to travel over the holiday from April 4 to 7, but the Ministry of Transportation and Communications said it does not expect any problems.
To ensure smooth security and immigration processes, Tigerair in a statement said it is opening all flight check-in desks three hours early at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport over the holiday period.

The airline also reminded travelers not to place any restricted items into their check-on luggage such as portable power banks or lighters to speed up the screening process.
Passengers can check in early online and use the airport’s self bag drop system to save time, it said.
Two pieces of carry-on luggage totaling up to 10kg are allowed, it said, adding that overweight pieces would incur an extra baggage fee of NT$2,000.

A 79-year-old woman died today after being struck by a train at a level crossing in Taoyuan, police said. The woman, identified by her surname Wang (王), crossed the tracks even though the barriers were down in Jhongli District’s (中壢) Neili (內壢) area, the Taoyuan Branch of the Railway Police Bureau said. COVID-19 infections have climbed for three consecutive weeks and are likely to reach another peak between next month and June, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said yesterday.
