The Gourmet Feast Takes Center Stage: Welcome to Join KAOHSIUNG FOOD SHOW 2023
The show will kick off on 26th Oct. and run for four consecutive days at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. Organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, and co-organized by the Kaohsiung City Government’s Maritime Bureau, the show will showcase gourmet foods, agricultural and aquatic products from Taiwan and around the world, offering an unprecedented culinary feast.
With the theme “Agri & Seafood Delicacy,” the Kaohsiung Food Show, along with the “ KAOHSIUNG HORECA “ jointly organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council and Chanchao International, will bring together over 280 well-known domestic and international companies, featuring more than 500 booths covering a wide range of exhibits, including fresh agricultural products, seafood, processed food and beverages, food processing equipment, packaging machinery, cleaning supplies, hotel bedding, and furniture. There are 11 international exhibitors from Germany, Belgium, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, India, and other countries, presenting a variety of exotic food products such as seafood, canned goods, nuts, and alcoholic beverages.
In addition to the mouth-watering food displays, this year’s show places special emphasis on sustainability and environmental protection. To reduce the waste from the exhibition’s decoration, public electronic billboards have been increased, and eco-friendly materials have been used in the decoration. Many participating companies are responding to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by committing to environmentally friendly production, reducing food waste, and obtaining dual clean certification. Examples include WEI-I, MOS Burger, YuanShan Industry, Chi Mei Agriculture’s signature and Fish Master, showcasing the spirit of sustainable development in the food industry. Moreover, in collaboration with the Industrial Technology Research Institute, a sustainable exhibition area will be set up during the exhibition period to promote sustainable concepts and commend exhibitors for their sustainable practices.
Various activities will be held during the show, including the “International Food Sourcing Kaohsiung,” providing an excellent negotiation platform for exhibitors and overseas buyers, promoting business opportunities in the food, catering, and hotel markets in southern Taiwan. Additionally, there will be SDGs Seminar, celebrity cooking shows, Yummy Product Show, Joint Tasting Session, Joint Auctions, daily Lucky Draws, and other activities, allowing visitors to gain in-depth insights into the latest trends in the food industry.
The “ Kaohsiung Food Show “ promises to be a grand feast that brings together delicacies, innovation, and sustainability. Admission for the general public will start at 1:00 pm on the first day of the exhibition, and a single ticket will grant access to both shows. An apartment building in New Taipei City’s Sanchong District (三重) collapsed last night after a nearby construction project earlier in the day allegedly caused it to tilt. Taiwan plans to cull as many as 120,000 invasive green iguanas this year to curb the species’ impact on local farmers, the Ministry of Agriculture said. Chiu Kuo-hao (邱國皓), a section chief in the ministry’s Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, on Sunday said that green iguanas have been recorded across southern Taiwan and as far north as Taichung.
