Adam Fox, Kaapo Kakko and Vincent Trocheck scored for the Rangers in the matchup of division leaders. Miro Heiskanen scored for Dallas, who lost their third straight game.

Shesterkin improved to 23-12-1 and has allowed two or fewer goals in 17 of his wins.
“He did everything he had to do to get the win,” Rangers coach Peter Laviolette said. “Shesty was fantastic.”
Shesterkin made an acrobatic glove save on Wyatt Johnson 17 minutes, 28 seconds into the second period, stopped Jamie Benn with a sliding pad stop 13 minutes, 57 seconds into the third, then smothered several chances in the crease less than three minutes later.
“I thought their goalie was their best player,” Stars coach Pete DeBoer said. “Our goalie was really good, too. Considering the back-to-back situation, that was a 2-1 game and we played right to the buzzer. We gave them everything they could handle.”
New York have won four of their past five games against Dallas.
Fox opened the scoring seven minutes, 46 seconds into the first period, one-timing a pass from Artemi Panarin past Stars netminder Scott Wedgewood, who made 23 saves. Defenseman Ryan Lindgren, who needed stitches under his left eye during Sunday’s game, also assisted on Fox’s ninth goal.
“I thought we battled hard,” Fox said. “They are a good team over there. We were ready from the start. Obviously a nice win.”
Fox has points in nine of his past 12 games. Despite missing 10 games due to injury, he is seventh among NHL defensemen with 46 points. Panarin leads the Rangers with 75 points, including 32 goals, and has points in 45 of New York’s 56 games.
Kakko made it 2-0 at eight minutes, 23 seconds into the second period, finishing off a passing play with defensemen K’Andre Miller and Erik Gustafsson. Kakko fired a high shot past Wedgewood from the left wing for his seventh goal.
The 23-year-old Finnish forward has points in five straight games.
“Kakko had another strong game,” Laviolette said. “He looks confident on the ice. That was a really nice goal.”
Heiskanen put the Stars on the board 47 seconds later with his seventh goal on the power play with assists from Benn and Joe Pavelski.
Trocheck added an empty-net goal at 18 minutes, 19 seconds into the third period to seal the win.
The last time the Rangers had a winning streak of eight or more games was during the 2015-2016 season, when they won nine in a row.

Spain starlets Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams dazzled on Thursday as La Roja beat France 5-4 in a thriller in Stuttgart, Germany, to set up a UEFA Nations League final with Portugal. Yamal bagged a brace, while Williams scored and provided an assist as the two wingers cut France’s makeshift defense to ribbons. Mikel Merino and Pedri were also on the score sheet for the UEFA Euro 2024 champions. Kylian Mbappe netted a second-half penalty, but Spain were 5-1 up and cruising, before Les Bleus suddenly woke up as their opponents took their foot off the pedal. France’s three late goals — a
Italy crashed to a 3-0 loss away to Norway, as the four-time FIFA World Cup champions made a disastrous start to their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign on Friday, while Belgium had to settle for a draw in North Macedonia. Alexander Sorloth, Antonio Nusa and Erling Haaland all scored in the first half in pouring rain in Oslo as Norway made it a night to forget for Italy, who missed out on the past two World Cups. “I have no explanation. Our supporters don’t deserve this kind of match. We need to do some soul-searching. It’s unacceptable,” Italy captain and goalkeeper Gianluigi
The Crusaders yesterday produced a clinical performance in difficult conditions to beat the Queensland Reds 32-12 and claim home advantage in next week’s Super Rugby semi-finals. Lock Scott Barrett and prop Tamaiti Williams scored first-half tries to reward an outstanding performance from the Crusaders’ forwards in wet, slippery conditions and bitterly cold temperatures. Scrumhalf Noah Hotham defied the conditions in the second half to score a superb solo try and, after kicking a conversion and penalty to make the score 22-0 at the hour mark, flyhalf Rivez Reihana scored a try which took the game beyond the Reds. “Typical Christchurch weather, cold, wet
