Two late-game rallies that erased double-digit deficits in the fourth quarter helped the Bank of Taiwan win all three of their games over the weekend in Taiwan's Super Basketball League action.
After the controversial walk-out by YMY that gave the bankers a league-designated 20-0 win and a 10-0 run in the final two minutes of the game that netted them a 99-96 win over the Videoland Hunters Saturday afternoon, the bankers put on their rally hats once more to beat Taiwan Beer by a 114-110 margin in overtime at the Taipei Physical Education College Gymnasium to cap off the perfect week.
All-Star forward Lin Chuin-fong's 15 first-quarter points gave the bankers a 32-30 edge in the quarter before the high-scoring half ended with the bankers leading 54-53.

Bank of Taiwan managed to build a 10-point cushion by the end of the third quarter behind the stellar three-point shooting of forward Yueh Ying-li, whose three "threes" spearheaded a 36-point outburst.
It took a 15-0 run by the beermen that gave them the first lead of the game midway through the fourth quarter before the bankers fought back and eventually won the game in overtime.
"What goes around comes around," Lin said, referring to Taiwan Beer's 110-103 overtime win over the Yulon Dinos on Saturday. "Taiwan Beer beat the Dinos the same last night ... and we are just doing our part to show them what it's like to lose like that."
Poor free-throw shooting by the beermen (27-for-39) cost them the game and the second-place spot in the standings.
Hunters 77, Dinos 80
Chou Shih-yuan's three-pointer with five seconds remaining in the game and his acrobatic block on the ensuing would-be, game-tying three-pointer by the Hunters gave the Yulon Dinos an 80-77 win.
The normally dependable perimeter threat for the Dinos did not have his usual shooting touch, missing the first eight of his shots from beyond the arc. But with the game on the line, he was able to drain the clincher.
With a frontcourt consisting of veterans Lai Guo-hong and Liang Chi-chao, the Hunters realized early success by pounding the ball inside the paint to trail the defending champions by only four after the first half (38-34).
A 13-4 run by the Hunters in the third quarter gave them a 61-57 lead heading into the fourth quarter before the Dinos answered with a 10-3 run to reclaim the lead midway through the quarter.
Neither team was able to hold leads larger than three points the rest of the way.
Tigers 88, Antelopes 70
The Dacin Tigers extended their winning streak to four straight by beating the ETTV Antelopes 88-70.
A 10-0 start by the Tigers helped set the tone early.
Freddie Freeman homered and drove in four runs, Shohei Ohtani also went deep and Roki Sasaki earned his first major league win as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 10-3 on Saturday night for their seventh straight victory. The Dodgers have won the first two games of the series to improve to 5-0 against Atlanta this year. Los Angeles’ three-game sweep at home early in the season left the Braves 0-7. Sasaki allowed three runs and six hits over five innings. The 23-year-old right-hander gave up a home run to Ozzie Albies, but received plenty of offensive support in his
Bayern Munich on Sunday were crowned German champions for the 34th time, giving striker Harry Kane his first major trophy, after second-placed Bayer 04 Leverkusen drew 2-2 at SC Freiburg. Bayern’s 3-3 draw at RB Leipzig on Saturday, when the Bavarians came from two goals down to take the lead before conceding a stoppage-time equalizer, meant defending Bundesliga champions Leverkusen needed to win at Freiburg to delay the title party. Leverkusen were two goals down before scoring twice in the final 10 minutes, but Xabi Alonso’s side could not find a third, as Bayern reclaimed the title at the first attempt after
Shuttler Lin Chun-yi yesterday kept Taiwan on the board as they faced their first major challenge of the group stage after marching into the last eight at the Sudirman Cup Finals in Xiamen, China. Taiwan were losing 3-1 to South Korea as of press time last night, with only the men’s doubles match remaining. Taiwan and four-time champions South Korea have already progressed to the quarter-finals, after Taiwan on Monday blanked the Czech Republic 5-0 without giving up a single game. Before last night’s tie, Taiwan were undefeated in Group B, with a 9-1 match record, ahead of South Korea, who, although also
A man fell from the 6.4m-high Clemente Wall in right field at PNC Park in Pittsburgh during Wednesday night’s game between the Pirates and the Chicago Cubs. Right after Andrew McCutchen hit a two-run double in the seventh inning to put the Pirates ahead 4-3, players began waving frantically for medical personnel and pointing to the man, who had fallen onto the warning track. The fan was tended to for approximately five minutes by members of both the Pirates and Cubs training staffs as well as PNC personnel before being removed from the field on a cart. The team issued a statement shortly
