Freddy Garcia finally received some run support, getting a homer from Raul Ibenez and a two-run double from Dan Wilson to lead the Seattle Mariners over the Boston Red Sox 5-4 Saturday.
"Five runs here in Fenway Park -- anything can happen," Garcia said.

Garcia (3-3) allowed four runs and eight hits in 5 2-3 innings. Seattle scored just 20 runs in his first nine starts.
"We finally scored him some runs," Seattle manager Bob Melvin said. "Every pitch has been taxing on him, but today we finally got him some runs and he got us big outs when he needed them."
Eddie Guardardo pitched the ninth for his ninth save in 11 chances.
Tim Wakefield (4-3) gave up five runs, 10 hits and three walks in 6 2-3 innings. Manny Ramirez homered and singled, and Kevin Millar had two hits for the Red Sox, who lost for just the third time in 11 games.
"In the second and third innings, I stunk," Wakefield said. "I got it back after the third inning. I felt comfortable after that. I battled as hard as I could just to try to keep us in the game, but you can't give those guys that many runs early."
Angels 5, White Sox 1
In Chicago, Aaron Sele (4-0) allowed four hits in 6 1-3 innings as Anaheim stopped a four-game losing streak.
Jeff DaVanon had two doubles and a single for the Angels, who scored five in the fourth inning off Jon Rauch (0-1), making his first major league start since Sept. 27, 2002. Chicago's fifth starters are a combined 0-7 this season.
Yankees 5, Devil Rays 3
In St. Petersburg, Florida, Kevin Brown (6-1) allowed three hits in 7 2-3 innings, taking a shutout in the eighth and improving to 4-0 this season against Tampa Bay.
Bernie Williams, Ruben Sierra and Enrique Wilson homered for the defending AL champions, who won their sixth straight and moved back into the AL East lead, a half-game ahead of Boston. Mariano Rivera worked a hitless ninth for his AL-leading 18th save, the 301st of his career.
Mark Hendrickson (2-5) allowed four runs, eight hits and four walks in 5 2-3 innings.
Orioles 8, Tigers 4
In Detroit, Miguel Tejada homered for the third straight game and Larry Bigbie drove in three runs.
Daniel Cabrera (3-1) allowed three runs -- two earned -- seven hits and four walks in five innings, and John Parrish finished for his first save.
Jeremy Bonderman (4-4) gave up seven runs and 10 hits in just 2 1-3 innings.
Indians 8, Athletics 6
In Cleveland, Jody Gerut singled home Matt Lawton with the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as Cleveland rallied from a 6-2, fifth-inning deficit.
Gerut's base hit off Arthur Rhodes (1-2) came shortly after the A's committed their third error. Oakland's pitchers also issued 10 walks.
David Riske (1-2) allowed one hit in two innings and Jose Jimenez pitched the ninth for his first save since last Aug. 3 for Colorado at Pittsburgh.
National League
J.D. Drew homered and drove in three runs to lead the Atlanta Braves over the Philadelphia Phillies 9-3 .
Rafael Furcal had a two-run triple, and Dewayne Wise had three hits for Atlanta, which has won seven of 10. John Thomson (4-2) gave up three runs -- one earned -- and eight hits in seven innings.
"I felt good. I had good stuff," Thomson said.
Vicente Padilla (4-5) allowed four runs and five hits in five innings before leaving with an inflamed right elbow. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list after the game.
"We need our starters to pitch deeper into the games," Phillies manager Larry Bowa said.
Philadelphia has lost three of five after going 12-4.
Cardinals 10, Astros 3
In Houston, Albert Pujols homered twice, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs as St. Louis won its fifth straight over Houston.
Pujols homered in the first and fifth innings off Wade Miller (5-5), his second multihomer game this season and the eighth of his career. With 14 homers, Pujols tied for the major league lead.
Cody McKay went 4-for-5 for the Cardinals, who had 16 hits, and Roger Cedeno hit his first homer since last Sept. 16. Woody Williams (2-5) gave up three runs and eight hits in six innings.
Marlins 3, Mets 2
In Miami, Mike Lowell homered off former Florida closer Braden Looper in the 10th inning. It was Lowell's 14th home run of the season, which tied for the major league lead.
Looper (0-1) was making his first appearance in his former home park since signing with the Mets in the offseason.
Justin Wayne (3-1), the fourth Florida pitcher, worked a perfect 10th to cap a one-hit, three-inning showing by the bullpen, which helped the NL East-leading Marlins take a two-game lead over Philadelphia.
Pirates 10, Cubs 7
In Pittsburgh, Rob Mackowiak hit a go-ahead, three-run homer and a two-run double for a career-high five RBIs.
Jason Kendall was 4-for-5, extending his hitting streak to 15 games.
Pittsburgh had 16 hits and improved to 23-22, moving above .500 this late in a season for the first time since Aug. 15, 1999 (59-58).
