The New Taiwan dollar yesterday continued to gain ground against its US counterpart at the Taipei foreign exchange market, rising NT$0.010 to close at NT$33.568.
Turnover totalled US$537 million, compared with last Friday's US$492 million.
The local currency opened at NT$33.560 against the greenback and was traded in a range between NT$33.510 and NT$33.800.
EUROPEAN TARGETS: The planned Munich center would support TSMC’s European customers to design high-performance, energy-efficient chips, an executive said Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC, 台積電), the world’s largest contract chipmaker, yesterday said that it plans to launch a new research-and-development (R&D) center in Munich, Germany, next quarter to assist customers with chip design.
