An annual survey conducted by the Chinese-language Global Views Monthly magazine has found local and foreign enterprises prefer hiring graduates from National Taiwan University (NTU) over any other university in the nation.
According to the survey, National Chengchi University graduates were the second-most desired employees, followed by National Cheng Kung University, National Chiao Tung University and National Tsing Hua University.
This is the first time in recent years that National Chengchi University, which does not have a school of science or engineering, has made it into the top five.
Chengchi’s ranking is likely due to the good reputation of its business graduates, whose hiring over the past two quarters has been the highest in the past three years.
Adecco North East Asia regional director Cindy Chen (陳玉芬) said that small and medium-sized enterprises prefer students from universities of science and technology, while larger firms want to hire graduates to serve as reserve officials, so they prefer students from NTU or Chengchi.
Chen said foreign high-tech enterprises prefer graduate students from NTU, Cheng Kung, Tsing Hua and Chiao Tung.
The survey was conducted between June 23 and Aug. 21.

F-16 Block 70/72 are newly manufactured F-16 jets built by Lockheed Martin to the standards of the F-16V upgrade package. Republic of China
