Well-known pop music band Sodagreen (蘇打綠) are to hold a series of concerts in Taipei in July to celebrate their 10th anniversary — but all three are already sold out.
Taipei is to be the fifth leg of the six-member band’s “10th Anniversary Air World Tour,” which started last month in Hong Kong and has included Beijing.
The next destinations for the band, as well as Taipei, are Shanghai, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Singapore, Shenzhen and Chengdu, before the tour winds up in Greater Kaohsiung in November.

The band’s first single, Air, which was released in May 2004, was the inspiration for the name of the anniversary tour.
Sodagreen began as an indie band, but later rose to mainstream popularity, becoming the first local indie band to perform at the Taipei Arena.
Known for their charismatic stage presence, the band are also popular for the poetic lyrics of their songs and the wide vocal range of their lead singer, Wu Ching-feng (吳青峰).
Sodagreen have released seven studio albums since 2007.
Among their best known songs are Little Universe (小宇宙), Little Love Song (小情歌) and Incomparable Beauty (無與倫比的美麗).
The band were awarded the Best Band Award in 2007 and 2008 at the nation’s Golden Melody Awards.
Starlux Airlines, Taiwan’s newest international carrier, has announced it would apply to join the Oneworld global airline alliance before the end of next year. In an investor conference on Monday, Starlux Airlines chief executive officer Glenn Chai (翟健華) said joining the alliance would help it access Taiwan. Chai said that if accepted, Starlux would work with other airlines in the alliance on flight schedules, passenger transits and frequent flyer programs. A new tropical storm formed late yesterday near Guam and is to approach closest to Taiwan on Thursday, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) said. Tropical Storm Pulasan became the 14th named storm of the year at 9:25pm yesterday, the agency said. As of 8am today, it was near Guam traveling northwest at 21kph, it said.
