Four Taiwanese pageant beauties will be "Miss May" in the American Red Cross calendar next year, a Central News Agency report said on Saturday.
The organization's decision to include a group picture of the two "Miss Taiwan" and two "Miss Teen Taiwan" for next year's calendar is to honor the volunteer work the four women have done for the organization's blood campaign drive last year.
The report also said the calendar would be hung in many offices and home across the US. The calendar will not only remind people of the importance of donating blood, but also highlight the four women's contribution to the community.
In addition to their appearance in the calendar, the four good Samaritans -- Su Ling-ru (蘇伶如), Yu Chia-ni (余佳霓), Yang He-ting (楊賀婷) and Fan Chien-hui (范千慧) -- also received a certificate of appreciation from the organization.
The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization that provides emergency assistance, disaster relief and education in the US. The organization also offers community services that include the collection, processing and distribution of blood and blood products for patients in need of blood transfusions.
