The newspaper said the TSU had also hired Liu as a party official, but had advised him to avoid appearing at party headquarters when the Central Executive Committee meet so that TSU legislators would not run into him.
The story cited an unnamed TSU legislator as saying that he had been shocked to see Liu at the party's headquarters.
Another unidentified source was cited as saying that Liu had been entrusted with an important position similar to that of "a mentor of TSU Chairman Huang Kun-huei (
Chou said the party had not offered Liu a job and that it would file a lawsuit against the United Daily News.
"The media should not act as a tool of political wrangling manipulated by a certain political force," Chou said.
