A collection of prize-winning "soccer robots" is being displayed at the 2006 Taipei International Invention Show and Technomart, which opened at the Taipei World Trade Center yesterday. The collection was created by students and researchers at Tamkang University's department of electrical engineering. The project, funded by the National Science Council, is dedicated to creating robots possessing global vision and the capacity to move in all directions. The students' creations captured a gold and bronze medals in this summer's robot-soccer world cup in Germany. The robots are equipped with 360? motion-capturing cameras, allowing them to receive and analyze visual input.
