Taiwan Quick Take: Sandstorm warning issued

    Thursday, Apr 20, 2006, Page 3

Air quality will be generally poor today as a sandstorm that originated in Mongolia hits -- the third to hit the country this year -- the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) said yesterday. EPA officials said that from this morning, the air quality across the nation will be affected by the storm, which blew up in Mongolia and Inner Mongolia yesterday. They advised the elderly, children and people with respiratory problems to be on guard, to refrain from going outdoors or engaging in strenuous outdoor activities. Officials said the sandstorm will reach its peak tonight and central and southern Taiwan will be affected tomorrow.
