Paul Collingwood enjoyed himself with both bat and ball as England cruised to a six-wicket win over the West Indies in the second one-day international on Sunday.
Victory, achieved with 14 overs left, gave England an unbeatable 1-0 lead in the three-match series following Thursday’s washout at Headingley.
A win was all but assured for England when, after captain Andrew Strauss won the toss, they bowled out the West Indies for just 160 inside 39 overs.

Fast bowler Stuart Broad took wickets at both ends of the innings on his way to figures of four for 46 while, in between, medium-pacer Collingwood chipped in with three for 16 before seeing England home with an unbeaten 47.
“I managed to nip a few around, get a few through the gate — then get a few runs,” Collingwood said. “So I’m feeling confident at the moment.”
It was another lackluster display by the West Indies after they had suffered a pair of humiliating defeats during their preceding Test series which they lost 2-0 to England.

“It’s a bad day at the office,” captain Chris Gayle told Sky Sports television. “It’s bad for morale, really bad. We can’t continue like this.”
But as far as Broad was concerned the victory was just what his side needed ahead of next month’s World Twenty20 in England.
“It’s a great start, but we’ve got a massive game coming up on Tuesday [at Edgbaston] to win this series leading into a massive World Cup and obviously the Ashes. So we’re very focused,” Broad said.
Collingwood’s haul included top scorer and fellow all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who was out for 50 following his stint in the Indian Premier League.
England lost opener Strauss cheaply, before a stand of 76 between Owais Shah (38) and man-of-the-match Collingwood (47 not out) saw them to the brink of victory. Ex-Ireland international Eoin Morgan was 2 not out on his England debut.
Broad removed both opener Lendl Simmons and Ramnaresh Sarwan for ducks. Gayle tried to counterattack and lofted Graeme Swann’s first ball for six, but the off-spinner had the last laugh, bowling Gayle for 31 with his next ball.
Bravo and the experienced Shivnarine Chanderpaul took the score from 44 for three to 107 for four when the latter was out to a top-edged pull off seamer Tim Bresnan.
Collingwood was not the worst bowler to be operating on a green-tinged pitch and he started his wicket-taking burst by ending Bravo’s brisk innings with a delivery that nipped back.
He then had Denesh Ramdin leg before wicket and, after Jerome Taylor was run out, knocked over Kieron Pollard’s middle stump.
