The University of Georgia routed the University of Hawaii 41-10 in college football's Sugar Bowl on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs took out their frustration at being passed over for a shot at the BCS championship game by dominating the Warriors, who saw their bid for an undefeated season end with a thud.
Knowshon Moreno ran for a pair of touchdowns in the opening quarter and the Bulldogs made life miserable for for Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan, who was sacked eight times, threw three interceptions and lost two fumbles -- one of them recovered for a Georgia touchdown.
The junior had the worst showing of his career, going 22-of-38 for just 169 yards -- less than half his 348-yard average this season.
S California 49, Illinois 17
In Pasadena, California, Southern California was every bit as good as advertised and the Rose Bowl was even more lopsided than expected, with freshman tailback Joe McKnight gaining 170 of Southern California's 633 yards in a record-setting romp.
USC tied a Rose Bowl record with the 49 points and the total offense was a record, too. The blowout gave the Trojans 11 wins for an unprecedented sixth-straight season and made them 5-1 in their last six bowl games.
Trojans quarterback John David Booty threw for 255 yards and three scores to set a Rose Bowl career record with seven TDs.
Michigan 41, Florida 35
In Orlando, Florida, Chad Henne threw for 373 yards and three touchdowns and Michigan took out the Capital One Bowl.
Mike Hart ran for 129 yards and two scores and the Wolverines brought up their first bowl win since 2003.
The Gators kept it close thanks to four turnovers and big plays by Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin, who ran 13 times for 165 yards and a touchdown, and caught nine passes for 77 yards and a score.
Missouri 38, Arkansas 7
In Dallas, Missouri made its case for having deserved a chance in one of the elite bowl games, routing Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl.
The damage was done by running back Tony Temple, who broke long-standing Cotton Bowl records with 281 yards and four touchdowns. Both records fell on his last run, a spinning, tackle-breaking, 40-yarder into the end zone.
Missouri were ranked No. 1 after beating Kansas in the regular-season finale, then lost badly to Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game.
Tennessee 21, Wisconsin 17
In Tampa, Florida, Erik Ainge threw for 365 yards and two touchdowns as Tennessee took out the Outback Bowl.
The defeat prevented Wisconsin from joining Michigan as the only Big Ten teams to beat SEC opponents in bowl games for three consecutive seasons.
Ainge completed 25 of 43 passes without a turnover to win MVP honors.
Texas Tech 31, Virginia 28
In Jacksonville, Florida, Alex Trlica kicked a 41-yard field goal with 7 seconds left to give Texas Tech a come-from-behind victory over the Cavaliers in a wild Gator Bowl.
Tech overcame pivotal penalties and a fumble to come back from a 28-14 fourth quarter deficit.
