NBS: Iverson the star as Nuggets shine

Allen Iverson scored 35 points a day after putting up 51, and this time it was enough to lead the Denver Nuggets to victory against the Dallas Mavericks 122-109 in the NBA on Thursday.
Iverson's 51 was against the Los Angeles Lakers, and it came in defeat. This time he added 12 assists and six steals as the Nuggets won in Dallas.
"I knew it was going to be tough after playing 48 minutes [on Wednesday], but, when you get on the court, you don't think about that," Iverson told reporters.
He was 12 of 19 from the field and hit 11 of 13 free throws. Carmelo Anthony and Linas Kleiza scored 23 points each for Denver.
Dirk Nowitzki scored a season-high 32 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Dallas but the Mavericks could not keep pace with the Nuggets.
Denver led 64-56 at the half behind Iverson's 15 points and moved to a 98-92 third-quarter advantage.
The Nuggets went up 107-94 in the fourth quarter by scoring on four of their first five possessions.
Veteran Jerry Stackhouse added 23 points and Josh Howard had 20 for Dallas, which lost for the sixth time in nine games.
Atlanta 90, Minnesota 89
Joe Johnson's game-ending jumper gave the Atlanta Hawks victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, who lost for the fifth time in a row. Josh Smith topped Atlanta with 28 points and seven blocked shots. Johnson added 21 points and Marvin Williams 20. Craig Smith scored 20 points and Corey Brewer had 18 rebounds for Minnesota.
Portland 112, Miami 106
Brandon Roy scored 25 points as the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Miami Heat 112-106. Dwayne Wade had 21 points for Miami.
