The New York Mets sent Milwaukee to their 10th defeat in 14 games on Thursday, beating the Brewers 12-4.
New York's Damion Easley hit the first inside-the-park homer at Miller Park in five years. The Mets scored three more times in the seventh, helped by shortstop J.J. Hardy's error and an RBI double from reliever Jorge Sosa.
Milwaukee catcher Johnny Estrada and manager Ned Yost got into a heated dispute in a dugout tunnel after the sixth inning and nearly tangled in the tunnel leading from the dugout to the clubhouse. Infielder Tony Graffanino stepped between them while pitcher Ben Sheets and pitching coach Mike Maddux stood in front of Estrada.

Giants 4, Dodgers 2
In Los Angeles, Barry Zito (8-10), the US$126 million left-hander who has struggled in his first season with San Francisco, won for just the second time in 10 starts and Held Barry Bonds to a single as the Giants defeated the Dodgers 4-2.
Los Angeles' Brett Tomko (2-9) took the loss, giving up three first-inning runs.
Phillies 10, Cubs 6
In Chicago, Pat Burrell homered and Jayson Werth drove in four runs for Philadelphia, who lost starting pitcher Kyle Lohse to a bruised forearm but still beat the Cubs.
Lohse, acquired in a trade on Monday with Cincinnati, lasted only one inning in his Philadelphia debut. He was hit by a line drive off the bat off Jacque Jones and had to leave the game.
Astros 12, Braves 11
In Atlanta, Houston pitcher Jason Jennings came through with a pinch-hit, two-out RBI single in the 14th inning as the Astros ended a three-game losing skid with victory over Atlanta.
Jennings, who was 1-for-17 entering the game, singled to right on a 2-1 pitch from Oscar Villarreal (1-1), scoring Jason Lane from second base.
Padres 11, Diamondbacks 0
In San Diego, Jake Peavy struck out 10 to pass 1,000 for his career and Morgan Ensberg hit two two-run homers in his first start with the San Diego as the Padres shut down Arizona.
Khalil Greene added a three-run homer and Adrian Gonzalez had a solo shot. Gonzalez, aboard for both of Ensberg's homers, scored three runs.
Pirates 5, Cardinals 4, 11 innings
In Pittsburgh, pinch-hitter Jose Castillo singled home the winning run with two outs in the 11th inning and Pittsburgh finally won successive games by beating St Louis, correcting a streak in which they lost 15 of 16 after the All-Star break.
An error by shortstop David Eckstein helped Pittsburgh put runners on first and second with no outs in the 11th against Brad Thompson. Ronny Paulino then bunted into a double play.
Nationals 7, Reds 3
In Washington, Ryan Zimmerman and the rest of Washington's suddenly hot offense gave Cincinnati starter Phil Dumatrait a rude welcome to the major leagues as the Nationals downed the Reds.
Washington has scored fewer runs than any other club in the majors, but Ronnie Belliard doubled twice and scored three runs and Dmitri Young added two RBI singles to back Mike Bacsik (5-6).
Rockies 4, Marlins 3
In Miami, Matt Holliday doubled home the tying run in the eighth inning and scored on Garrett Atkins' sacrifice fly as Colorado edged past Florida.
Colorado trailed 3-2 when Kaz Matsui led off the eighth with an infield single against Armando Benitez (2-7) and scored on Holliday's double. Holliday took third on the throw home, then scored easily on Atkins' fly.
The Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees scored eight runs each in the second-highest scoring inning in major league history. Jermaine Dye homered twice, including a go-ahead drive that led Chicago to a 13-9 win on Thursday.
New York scored 33 runs and had 15 homers in the series. But there were no home runs by Alex Rodriguez, who ended a career-high hitless streak at 22 at-bats when he singled in the second.
Rodriguez went 2-for-5 and was scheduled to resume his quest for 500 homers yesterday against Kansas City.
Red Sox 7, Orioles 4
In Boston, Doug Mirabelli went 3-for-3 with a homer, recovering from a baserunning gaffe to drive in the tiebreaking run in the seventh inning for the Red Sox.
Eric Gagne pitched the ninth in his first appearance since Boston acquired him from Texas on Tuesday. The former Rangers closer, pitching because Jonathan Papelbon finished off Wednesday night's game, entered to a standing ovation.

In Cleveland, Jake Westbrook ended the longest winless stretch of his major league career and the Indians stopped a four-game losing skid.
Westbrook (2-6) picked up his first win since April 27 -- a span of nine starts -- by allowing five hits in six innings. The right-hander, who signed a US$33 million, three-year contract extension in April, spent nearly six weeks on the disabled list with a strained muscle.
Angels 6, Athletics 4
In Oakland, after going 30 games without a homer, Vladimir Guerrero hit two in consecutive at-bats as Los Angeles beat Oakland.
Guerrero ended the longest power dry spell of his career -- lasting 125 at-bats -- with two homers off Chad Gaudin. His last home run was on June 23.
He gave the Angels a 1-0 lead in the fourth and added a three-run blast in fifth.
