Anders Hansen rolled in a 25-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole to beat Justin Rose and win the BMW PGA Championship for the second time on Sunday.
The Dane also won the title in 2002 for his only previous European Tour victory.
Rose had a chance to extend the playoff but missed his birdie attempt from 20 feet.

"I guess it's disappointing but it was over so quickly," Rose said. "Anders rolled in his putt and I missed mine."
Hansen shot 69 and Rose 71 at Wentworth to finish on 8-under 280, a stroke clear of Vijay Singh and Richard Sterne. Singh shot a day's best 66 and Sterne had 74.
Hansen said this win meant more than the first in 2002.

"That year I came in playing really good. A lot of things have happened since," Hansen said.
"I have played 10 events this year in America. I have kept shooting myself in the foot. I think this means a lot more to me than the first time. It's a fantastic feeling after all the hard work I've put in," he said.
This was Rose's first event in six weeks since an enforced rest with a back injury after finishing 5th in the Masters last month. That too came after a four-week break.
"It's hard not to be disappointed after playing so well in a tournament I love and watched so much as a kid," Rose said.
"I think the reason I can play as well as that after a break is that I am very comfortable with my game. It doesn't take me long to fire my engines again," he said.
Overnight leaders Paul Broadhurst and Ross Fisher fared badly. Broadhurst had two sevens on his card in a round of 80 that left him tied 20th. Fisher began with five bogeys on the way to an 84 and tied 39th.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen go into today’s match at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim stung from their first league defeat in 16 months. Leverkusen were beaten 3-2 at home by RB Leipzig before the international break, the first loss since May last year for the reigning league and cup champions. While any defeat, particularly against a likely title rival, would have disappointed coach Xabi Alonso, the way in which it happened would be most concerning. Just as they did in the Supercup against VfB Stuttgart and in the league opener to Borussia Moenchengladbach, Leverkusen scored first, but were pegged back. However, while Leverkusen rallied late to
The lights dimmed and the crowd hushed as Karoline Kristensen entered for her performance. However, this was no ordinary Dutch theater: The temperature was 80°C and the audience naked apart from a towel. Dressed in a swimsuit and to the tune of emotional music, the 21-year-old Kristensen started her routine, performed inside a large sauna, with a bed of hot rocks in the middle. For a week this month, a group of wellness practitioners, called “sauna masters,” are gathering at a picturesque health resort in the Netherlands to compete in this year’s Aufguss world sauna championships. The practice takes its name from a
Japanese players are moving to English soccer in record numbers and more look set to follow with clubs attracted by their quality, strong work ethic and value for money. Kaoru Mitoma is the standout talent of five Japanese players in the English Premier League, with eight more in the Championship and two in League One. Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo, the captain of Japan, believes his compatriots are “being held in higher esteem” by English clubs compared with the past. “The staff at Liverpool ask me about lots of Japanese players, not necessarily with a view to a transfer, but just saying this or
