Coyotes, Nolan rip into struggling Washington

Owen Nolan had a goal and an assist in Phoenix's three-goal first period and the Coyotes beat the struggling Washington Capitals 3-2 on Monday for their third straight win.
Mikael Tellqvist made 30 saves for Phoenix, which has won four of its last five after struggling in the first half of the season.
The Capitals scored once during seven power plays. They have lost five straight and seven of eight.
Avalanche 5, Predators 3
In Nashville, Tennessee, Wojtek Wolski scored two goals and Joe Sakic added three assists to lead Colorado over Nashville.
Milan Hejduk, Andrew Brunette and Ossi Vaananen scored for Colorado, which snapped a three-game losing streak.
Jason Arnott scored two goals, one on a power play, for Nashville. Alexander Radulov also scored.
Thrashers 3, Senators 2, OT
Slava Kozlov scored in overtime to give the Atlanta Thrashers a 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators on Monday.
Kozlov slipped a backhander through the legs of Ottawa goalie Ray Emery with a delayed penalty signalled against the Sens to give the Thrashers their sixth win in seven games.
Atlanta's win solidified their hold on second place in the Eastern Conference standings while denying the Senators a season-high fifth straight win.
Marian Hossa, Atlanta's leading scorer who came over in a trade from Ottawa, assisted on all three goals for the Thrashers, while Kari Lehtonen made 33 saves.
Daniel Alfredsson opened the scoring for the Senators 51 seconds into the second period, but goals from Ilya Kovalchuk and Kozlov had the Thrashers leading 2-1 before the end of the period.
Tom Preissing's powerplay goal with 3:55 left in the third tied the game and set up the overtime, before Kozlov sealed the win for the Thrashers 1:48 into overtime.
Sabres 3, Islanders 1
In Buffalo, New York, Ryan Miller made 29 saves and Maxim Afino-genov scored a goal to give Buffalo its win over New York.
Paul Gaustad and Jochen Hecht also scored for the Sabres, who have won five of their last six.
Buffalo beat the Islanders for the sixth consecutive time.
Jason Blake scored for the Islanders in the third period, snapping the team's 186:31 scoreless streak, a new team record.
New York has lost three straight, the first two losses coming in shutouts.
The game marked the return to Buffalo for Islanders coach Ted Nolan. He guided the Sabres for two years and was the league's coach of the year in 1997.
Maple Leafs 5, Bruins 1
At Toronto, Mats Sundin scored twice and added an assist to lead Toronto to just its fifth victory in 17 games.
Kris Newbury scored his first career NHL goal, and Hal Gill and Jeff O'Neill also scored for Toronto.
Zdeno Chara scored for the Bruins, netting a rebound at 4:51 of the first as he was being checked to the ice. Boston had won four of its last six games.
