Taiwan's women's soccer team was scheduled to depart Taipei for the US yesterday for a 10-day training period ahead of the Asian Games to be held in Doha, Qatar, at the end of this year.
During the training period in Los Angeles, the team is scheduled to play four friendlies against its US and Mexican counterparts at the LA Home Depot Center Stadium, said head coach Chou Tai-ying (
One of the games against the US national team will be broadcast live on ESPN, with tickets to the game available to the public, Chou said.
The 21-member Taiwanese women's soccer team, which will be grouped with North Korea, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam in the preliminary round of the 15th Asian Games to be held from Dec. 1 to Dec. 15, is scheduled to return home on Oct. 7.
