The Bears had the last laugh by scoring the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning on Lions rookie catcher Kao Chih-kang's ill-advised pickoff attempt to first that skidded past the first baseman to give the Bears runner on third a chance to score in a 4-3 final.
Reliever Dai Long-shui got the first win for the Bears in the second half of the season, while his counterpart Tsao Jung-yang was dealt the tough loss.
