Jamal Lewis mentioned setting the NFL rushing record against Cleveland, then ran through the Browns for 295 yards in Baltimore's 33-13 victory at home on Sunday.
Earlier in the week, Lewis told Browns linebacker Andra Davis he might smash Corey Dillon's 278-yard mark. With touchdown bursts of 82 and 63 yards, he did just that, breaking the record with a 3-yard run with 6:55 left.
"Andra told me he wanted me to get the ball 30 times," Lewis said. "I told him if I get the ball 30 times it's going to be a career day.
"I'm not going to say I predicted it. It was lucky."
Lewis had 100 yards by his second carry and was at 180 yards by halftime. He carried 30 times, averaging a whopping 9.8 yards per carry, as Cleveland fell to 0-2.
Last October, he shredded Cleveland for 187 yards.
Ed Reed returned an interception 54 yards for a touchdown on the game's final play, and long-range kicker Wade Richey made a Ravens-record 56-yard field goal.
Rams 27, 49ers 24, OT
In St. Louis, Marc Bulger shook off two first-half turnovers, throwing for two touchdowns and keeping his cool on the final drive. Jeff Wilkins kicked a 28-yard field goal in overtime.
The Rams (1-1) have won eight of the last nine over the 49ers (1-1), who didn't go quietly, forcing the extra period on Terrell Owens' 13-yard touchdown catch from Jeff Garcia with 19 seconds to go. The score capped an 85-yard, 11-play march.
Panthers 12, Buccaneers 9, OT
In Tampa, Florida, John Kasay's fourth field goal, a 47-yarder with 3:28 remaining in overtime, capped a wild final few minutes.
The Buccaneers (1-1) tied the game with no time left in regulation on Keenan McCardell's 6-yard reception. But Kris Jenkins got a hand on what would have been a game-winning extra point by Martin Gramatica.
Raiders 23, Bengals 20
In Oakland, California, Sebastian Janikowski's third field goal, a 39-yarder with 9 seconds left, won it. The Raiders (1-1) got a break on their final drive when Jeff Burris was flagged for pass interference against Jerry Rice, giving Oakland the ball on the Cincinnati 22 with 23 seconds left.
The Bengals (0-2) fell to 0-9 all-time in Oakland. But Jon Kitna calmly rallied his team back to tie it at 20 with 1:18 left when he completed an 8-yard TD pass to Peter Warrick.
Redskins 33, Falcons 31
In Atlanta, after being sacked five times and fumbling twice in the first half, Patrick Ramsey threw for a career-high 356 yards and two touchdowns as the Redskins rallied from a 17-point deficit.
Laveranues Coles, shaken up early when his head rammed the leg of Falcons safety Kevin McCadam, recovered to set career highs with 11 catches for 180 yards. He had the clinching touchdown on a 19-yard reception.
Washington is 2-0 for the first time since 1991, the season of its last Super Bowl championship. The Falcons (1-1) failed to give coach Dan Reeves his 200th career victory.
Chiefs 41, Steelers 20
In Kansas City, Missouri, Dante Hall's 100-yard kickoff return and Priest Holmes' three touchdowns led Kansas City.
Holmes, proving again his recovery from offseason surgery is complete, had 122 yards rushing. The All-Pro running back capped the scoring with a 31-yard run with 5:06 left.
Hall's kickoff return, the longest for the Chiefs (2-0) in almost 36 years, came just moments after the Steelers (1-1) took a 10-0 first-quarter lead.
Patriots 31, Eagles 10
In Philadelphia, Tom Brady passed for 255 yards and three touchdowns for the Patriots (1-1), keeping the Eagles winless at the new Lincoln Financial Field.
In his worst game since his rookie season, Donovan McNabb completed just 18 of 46 passes for 186 yards, threw two interceptions -- one returned for a TD -- lost two fumbles and was sacked seven times.
Seahawks 38, Cardinals 0
In Tempe, Arizona, the bumbling Cardinals (0-2) turned the ball over on their first four possessions and Matt Hasselbeck threw touchdown passes of 55 and 66 yards to Darrell Jackson.
It was the Cards' most one-sided home loss since a 52-10 beating by Philadelphia on Nov. 8, 1981, seven years before the franchise moved from St. Louis to Arizona.
Broncos 37, Chargers 13
In San Diego, Jake Plummer was hurt diving for a first down, but stayed in for two more plays, long enough to throw his third touchdown in less than two quarters.
The Broncos (2-0) dominated the Chargers (0-2) despite losing Plummer (shoulder), who was replaced by Steve Beuerlein, and running back Clinton Portis, who suffered a chest bruise and missed the second half.
Packers 31, Lions 6
In Green Bay, Wisconsin, Ahman Green rushed 23 times for 160 yards, including a 65-yarder for a score on his first carry. The Packers (1-1) picked off three of Joey Harrington's passes in the second half and sent the Lions (1-1) to their 17th straight road loss on a field drenched by nearly 7.6cm of rain in 48 hours.
Green became the fourth running back in Packers history to top 4,000 career yards.
Dolphins 21, Jets 10
In East Rutherford, New Jersey, Ricky Williams ran for 125 yards on 34 carries and the Dolphins rebounded from an embarrassing loss to Houston. Miami won at the Meadowlands for the first time since 1997 and avoided its first 0-2 start in 15 years.
After jumping to a 21-3 halftime lead, the Dolphins stalled in the second half against the Jets (0-2). But Vinny Testaverde, playing a good game after a horrible start in the opening loss to Washington, could not lead his team back.
Colts 33, Titans 7
In Indianapolis, Edgerrin James rushed for 120 yards and scored one touchdown, while a stifling defense limited Tennessee (1-1) to 236 yards. The Colts snapped a three-game losing streak against the defending AFC South champs.

One of Malaysia’s top soccer clubs has pulled out of today’s season-opening Charity Shield after a spate of assaults, including an acid attack, on players in the country.
