Dirk Nowitzki had 30 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 92-86 win over the Washington Wizards in NBA action on Monday.
Nowitzki had 10 of his points in the fourth quarter as Dallas (23-4) narrowly avoided a second straight loss at home after winning its first 12 home games to start the season.
Steve Nash added 16 points for the Mavericks, while Michael Finley added 14 points and Shawn Bradley 10.
Dallas has now beaten Washington five of the last six times the teams have played.
The game was tied 65-65 early in the fourth quarter but Bradley's tip-in put Dallas ahead for good.
The Wizards got back to within one later in the quarter, but Nowitzki and Nash sealed the game with 6-for-6 shooting from the free throw line in the final minute.
Jerry Stackhouse had 28 points and 10 rebounds for Washington (12-15), which has lost two straight after a three-game winning streak.
Larry Hughes added 24 points for the Wizards, while Michael Jordan added 13 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.
Pacers 112 Hawks 97
In Indianapolis, Al Harrington had 40 points to lead the Indiana Pacers to a 112-97 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
Ron Artest added 24 points for the Pacers, who have lost just once in 14 home games this season. Brad Miller had 22 points and 11 rebounds.
Jason Terry had 25 points and 10 assists for the Hawks, while Shareef Abdur-Rahim scored 19 points and Glenn Robinson added 16.
Cavaliers 74 Heat 72
In Cleveland, Ricky Davis had 33 points to lead the Cavaliers to just their sixth win of the season, a 74-72 victory over the Miami Heat.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Cavaliers, who are just 6-24 this season.
Smush Parker also had 11 points for Cleveland, which ended a four-game losing streak.
Brian Grant scored a season-high 19 points and added 17 rebounds for the Heat, which saw its three-game winning streak snapped.
Nets 99 Bulls 83
In East Rutherford, New Jersey, Lucious Harris scored 20 points as the New Jersey Nets rolled to a 99-83 win over the Chicago Bulls.
Jason Kidd added 19 points for New Jersey (19-9) and Richard Jefferson had 18 as the Nets won their 10th straight at home.
Marcus Fizer and Jalen Rose had 16 points apiece to lead Chicago (10-18), but it wasn't enough to help the Bulls avoid their14th straight loss on the road.
Bucks 108 Magic 103
In Orlando, Ray Allen had 35 points to lead the Milwaukee Bucks past the Magic 108-103.
Milwaukee (12-15) won its second straight as Michael Redd added 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Sam Cassell scored 19 points while Anthony Mason chipped in a season-high 18 points for the Bucks The Magic played without Tracy McGrady, out again with nagging back problems.
Mike Miller scored 29 points for Orlando while Grant Hill had 27 points, seven assists and seven rebounds.
Jazz 96 Rockets 91
In Houston, Karl Malone scored 31 points to help rally the Utah Jazz past the Rockets 96-91.
Malone scored 10 of his points in the fourth quarter including six in the final 90 seconds as Utah overcame a seven-point deficit to record its third straight win.
Matt Harpring added 25 points for the Jazz.
Steve Francis had 26 points for the Rockets, who lost their second straight. Yao Ming had 18 points and seven rebounds.
Spurs 99 Hornets 94 (OT)
In San Antonio, Tim Duncan scored 29 points and hauled down 23 rebounds as the Spurs edged the New Orleans Hornets 99-94 in overtime.
Bruce Bowen added 21 points for the Spurs, who have won four straight games.
Malik Rose added 19 points and seven rebounds for the winners.
David Wesley had 20 points for the Hornets (18-11), while Baron Davis had 18 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
Suns 89 SuperSonics 88
In Phoenix, Shawn Marion had 30 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Suns to a 89-88 win over the Seattle SuperSonics.
Anfernee Hardaway added 20 points and eight rebounds for the Suns (17-11), who have won three in a row.
Rashard Lewis scored 24 points and hauled in seven rebounds for the SuperSonics (14-15), who have lost four in a row.
