Playboy magazine took one of former DPP spokeswoman Sisy Chen's (
After making public her having breast cancer on Thursday, Chen told reporters jokingly that she would "take advantage of her breasts' surplus value by posing naked for the magazine at a cost of NT$3 million." She added that she would use the money to buy the Steinway piano she had long dreamed about.
Chen, however, flatly rejected the magazine's overtures yesterday, saying her jokes "are as good as the conclusions to be reached at the upcoming Economic Development Advisory Conference."
"[You] don't really have to realize these conclusions even though [you've] proposed to do so," Chen said yesterday, satirizing the DPP government's trouble in dealing with economic problems.
In addition to Playboy magazine, Chen said that other local magazines have also asked her to be on their covers. But she felt that the timing wasn't right and natural, so she declined all the magazines' "kind offers," expressing her thanks to all who care about her medical condition.
Chen will be operated on early next month to remove a tumor above her left breast at the National Taiwan University Hospital.
