Local gynecologists yesterday released a survey that shows 80 percent of Taiwanese women are satisfied with their sex life.
Another 62.7 percent regard it as an illness when they have sexual problems with their partners. However, only 2.4 percent will seek help from doctors when they encounter such problems.
Other items in the survey show that 12.1 percent have lost their desire to have sex; 24 percent have never experienced an orgasm and 10.1 percent said it feels painful when they have sex.

"Eighty percent of our interviewees were satisfied with their sex life, however, 24 percent of them have never known what a climax is," Chen said.
"Usually, you will not be satisfied or happy with something if you don't know the essence of it. But for women, they can still feel pleasure during sexual intercourse if they are treated well mentally," Chen said.
He also said that Taiwanese men should be encouraged and feel more confident.
"Many men don't really understand what women need," he said. "It doesn't matter what size you are. It's how you treat your loved one that count."
The survey was conducted by gynecologists from the Taipei Medical University Hospital (
The study interviewed patients who are sexually active and came to see gynecologists between December last year and January.
Of the 940 people who submitted complete surveys, 84 percent were married and 66 percent have children. The average age was 36.

F-16 Block 70/72 are newly manufactured F-16 jets built by Lockheed Martin to the standards of the F-16V upgrade package. Republic of China

Tropical Storm Pulasan became the 14th named storm of the year at 9:25pm yesterday, the agency said. As of 8am today, it was near Guam traveling northwest at 21kph, it said.
