Former Enron Corp official Michael Kopper agreed to plead guilty to fraud in the first criminal charges against an executive in the energy trader's collapse, people familiar with the case said. Kopper, who managed partnerships for former Enron Chief Financial Officer Andrew Fastow that were used to hide US$1 billion in losses, is scheduled to appear tomorrow in federal court in Houston, the people said. Kopper has agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering and will surrender about US$12 million he obtained illegally, a person said. He also will cooperate with US investigators, people said.
