Ten people were killed yesterday and 20 wounded, most of them civilians, in suicide bomb attack outside an Afghan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP) station in western Kabul, Afghan Deputy Interior Minister Ayub Salangi said in a Twitter post.
The blast was in the Dehmazang area in the west of the city.
Kabul police spokesman Mohammad Ismail Kawusi said that the bomber blew himself up after joining a line of people waiting to enter the office.
The city was hit by a series of suicide attacks last month, including one that killed seven journalists from a private television station as the Taliban stepped up their campaign against the Western-backed government.
The attack comes just ahead of a third round of four-country “roadmap talks” trying to lay the groundwork for direct dialogue between Kabul and the Taliban.
Delegates from Afghanistan, Pakistan, China and the US are set to convene in Islamabad on Saturday.
