Eleven mistresses of a leading Chinese official have emerged to jointly accuse their former lover of corruption in the latest scandal to hit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), state press said yesterday.

Yesterday's edition of the Hunan Daily published the first details of Pang's case, saying 11 former mistresses have surfaced to testify against him for defrauding investors in a business scheme that went bust.
Several of Pang's mistresses were wives of city leaders, who turned a blind eye to Pang's trysts for a time as he funneled ill-gotten gains to them through his illegal business activities, it said.
Among the mistresses to point the finger at Pang was Zeng Qing, whose husband was executed for having run the failed investment scheme set up by Pang.
Details of the scheme were not disclosed.
Pang got his lovers involved in the scam, which eventually went bankrupt with debts of 90 million yuan (US$12 million), and a state-funded water diversion project blighted by poor-quality construction, the paper said.
Officials of the Shaanxi provincial lower assembly refused to comment on the case.
The revelations mark the latest embarrassing scandal for the CCP, which has been stained by corruption among top officials, many of whom have been accused of living "decadent" lifestyles.
