Hong Kong-based TV journalist Tanya Liu (劉海若), has recovered from a three-month coma caused by injuries she received in a train derailment in Britain in May, according to a report in the Chinese-language media. Liu, 34, was not only able to recognize family members, but also read an article she had written in the past, the report said. Liu is now receiving treatment in a Beijing hospital. Liu used to worked for Taiwan's ERA News but left to join the Phoenix channel in Hong Kong two years ago. She was host of Phoenix's financial program Fortune This Week and has shared anchoring duties on The Asia Journal and News on the Hour. Two of Liu's friends were among the seven people killed in the train accident north of London.
