The Lan Eng Foundation (蘭恩文教基金會), which operates the Lan Eng Kindergarten and also provides services for the elderly, was informed that President Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) would donate NT$1 million of the royalties from his photo book, which went on sale Tuesday. For foundation staff, the money will come "just in time," and their happiness spread to the kindergarten children.

The High Court yesterday overturned a Taipei District Court decision to release Taiwan People’s Party Chairman Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) and sent the case back to the lower court. The Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office on Saturday questioned Ko amid a probe into alleged corruption involving the Core Pacific City development project during his time as Taipei mayor.
