The International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) has released a board game based on the nation’s foreign aid program in a bid to promote public understanding of foreign affairs.
The fund, operated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Friday introduced the game, called “Mission Taiwan, Go!”
ICDF secretary-general Timothy Hsiang (項恬毅) said it is part of the fund’s ongoing multimedia campaign to communicate with the public about its mission, especially among young students.

Students and faculty of Taipei’s Jianguo High School, First Girls’ High School and Bailing High School, and Taoyuan’s Yangming High, helped test the game through several play sessons before release.
Hsiang thanked the schools for their assistance during the game’s development.
The game features six players who adopt characters and engage in a simulated foreign aid program with the aim of achieving UN Sustainable Development Goals, he said.
The game requires players to implement a program, resolve problems, raise funds and use a variety of tools, Hsiang said, adding that the immersive experience can help people quickly grasp the ICDF’s mission.
Young volunteers and the government employees are key to the country’s diplomatic efforts, and the ministry treats youth recruitment as a high priority, Department of International Cooperation and Economic Affairs director-general Tsai Yun-chung (蔡允中) said.
Taiwan’s international cooperative programs depend on the participation of the youth to provide agility and innovation, he added.

A total of 30 Chinese warplanes crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait on Thursday and Friday, entering Taiwan’s northern and southwestern airspace in coordination with 15 naval vessels and three high-altitude balloons, the MAC said in a statement. The Chinese military also carried out another “joint combat readiness patrol” targeting Taiwan on Thursday evening, the MAC said. On
The Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) yesterday confirmed that Chinese students visiting Taiwan at the invitation of the Ma Ying-jeou Foundation were almost all affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). During yesterday’s meeting convened by the legislature’s Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee, Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Legislator Michelle Lin (林楚茵) asked whether the visit was a way to spread China’s so-called “united front” rhetoric, to which MAC Deputy Ministry Shen You-chung (沈有忠) responded with the CCP comment. The MAC noticed that the Chinese individuals visiting Taiwan, including those in sports, education, or religion, have had increasingly impressive backgrounds, demonstrating that the
