Police in Taipei City’s Wanhua District (萬華) yesterday said a man and a woman allegedly stabbed each other following an argument over where they should have sex.
Huang Kuo-chen (黃國珍), lieutenant for Wanhua Precinct’s investigation department, said the precinct received a call at around 3am yesterday that said a 32-year-old woman, surnamed Tsai (蔡), was naked and bleeding on Sanshui Street calling for help.
Police reported to the scene and arrested a 65-year-old man, surnamed Wei (魏), whose arms were also wounded.
The police investigation revealed that Wei met Tsai randomly at a food stand and the two flirted.
The two then allegedly negotiated a prostitution deal, with Wei paying Tsai NT$2,000 for the service, police said.
After Wei took Tsai home for the transaction, Tsai asked that they have intercourse in the living room, while Wei insisted on doing so in the bedroom, police said.
Tsai then decided to leave, but Wei stopped her and Tsai allegedly stabbed Wei with her key-chain knife.
Wei allegedly then cut her with a kitchen knife.
Tsai ran naked into the street and asked for help, police said.
“Wei and Tsai each pressed charges against the other for causing bodily harm,” Huang said.
“We are also investigating the matter from the angle of prostitution,” he said.
“This case was registered according to their statements but we are still investigating to find out more details on what actually happened,” Huang said.
‘JOINT SWORD’: Whatever President Lai says in his Double Ten speech, China would use it as a pretext to launch ‘punishment’ drills for his ‘separatist’ views, an official said China is likely to launch military drills this week near Taiwan, using President William Lai’s (賴清德) upcoming national day speech as a pretext to pressure the nation to accept its sovereignty claims, Taiwanese officials said. China in May launched “punishment” drills around Taiwan shortly after Lai’s inauguration, in what Beijing said was a response to “separatist acts,” sending heavily armed warplanes and staging mock attacks as state media denounced newly inaugurated Lai. The May drills were dubbed “Joint Sword — 2024A” and drew concerns from capitals, including Washington. Lai is to deliver a key speech on Thursday in front of the Presidential Office
