Chanting "Party assets are national property" and "The name of the nation is Taiwan," convener of the 908 Taiwan Republic Alliance Peter Wang (王獻極) said that "Ma is corrupt" because he sold many assets after assuming the KMT chairmanship and "pocketed part of his mayoral special allowance."

Wang demanded that Ma return all the profits the party had received from selling its assets.
The money could be used then to provide for the elderly through a monthly subsidy of NT$13,500 (US$417), Wang said, adding that his group would start a campaign for the subsidy today.

The premier's comments were an interference with the administration of justice, and the alliance would demand that Su resign from his post if he did not apologize, Wang said.
Hou's decision on Ma's special allowance case should not be influenced by Su's comments on governmental chiefs' special allowance controversy, he added.
