The Taipei Police Department's Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) is helping in the investigation by attempting to narrow the list of suspects by identifying those who might be capable of making a bomb.
"This bomb was made by a professional," said Chen Che-wen (陳檡文), captain of the CIC. "The explosive was extremely stable and the bomb was designed so that it would only injure the person who opened it. Obviously, the bomb maker specifically targeted Yang."
The CIC said that 40-year-old Yang only joined Bowa-Successful Asset Management in April. The package was mailed from Tamsui, Taipei County, to Yang's previous office on Aug. 28. It was returned to the couriers and eventually forwarded to Yang's new office, which is located on Dunhua S Road in Taipei City.
