A plastic surgeon has given his 80-year-old mother a special Mother's Day gift: a facelift.
Liang Wei-chung and his mother appeared on the TVBS cable television channel on Saturday to show off the results of the surgery.
Mother's Day was yesterday.
The facelift, conducted by Liang himself, began six months ago and comprised dozens of treatments: liposuction, botox injections, eyelid tucks, a nose job, dermabrasion and wrinkle removal. The procedures cost NT$300,000.
Compared with the mother's picture before the surgery, a lady with heavy bags under her eyes and wrinkles, she now looks 30 years younger with full lips, a straight nose and smooth and shining facial skin.
Liang's mother said she is very happy because her new looks have given her self-confidence, but she is not satisfied.
"I need another operation to make my neck smoother and another to remove the wrinkles around my mouth," she said on TVBS.
"That will be my gift for you for next year's Mother's Day," Liang told his mother.
A small number of Taiwanese this year lost their citizenship rights after traveling in China and obtaining a one-time Chinese passport to cross the border into Russia, a source said today.
