Wang was speaking yesterday at a KMT Central Standing Committee meeting which assessed the party's electoral prospects.
The New Party, a splinter party of the KMT, is now running under the KMT's banner.
Wang, who serves concurrently as a KMT vice chairman, told the meeting that the party should pay close attention to developments in current affairs and personal issues.

Wang also said that some constituencies -- Taoyuan, Yunlin and Changhua counties -- could be vulnerable for the KMT and the New Party and urged candidates in those areas to work harder to win votes.
A record 387 candidates are running for 168 local and eight Aboriginal seats.
Legislator-at-large and overseas Chinese seats will be awarded in proportion to the votes captured by each party.

A new tropical storm is expected to form by early tomorrow morning, potentially developing into a medium-strength typhoon that is to affect Taiwan through Wednesday next week, the Central Weather Administration said today. There are currently two tropical systems circulating to the east of Taiwan, agency forecaster Hsu Chung-yi (徐仲毅) said.
