Four Kaohsiung City councilors yesterday said that prosecutors had lied to them and said that they would petition the Control Yuan regarding the matter.
The four councilors, who used to belong to the Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) but who are all independent now, include Wu Lin Shu-min (吳林淑敏), Tseng Chang-fa (曾長發), Liu Shao-chun (劉少春) and Chen Yun-lung (陳雲龍).
At a press conference, they said that Kaohsiung prosecutors had lied to them during the investigation of the bribery case involving the city council speakership election in 2002.
All were convicted in the bribery case, and all were sentenced to six months in jail.
