FOODTECH 2007 will be rolling out this June 21-24 with TAIPEI PACK and FOOD TAIPEI at the TWTC Exhibition Halls 1, 2, and 3. That's where soaring demand, incomes, and appetites from across Asia are driving the need for the best in food processing machinery. And that's why vendors are coming en masse to FOODTECH'007 to seek more overseas clients. To date, more than 150 vendors have registered for the show, comparable to the number of registrants in 2006. With over 500 stands, this will be Taiwan's largest show of its kind, and a benchmark for the food industry throughout Asia.
Entering the 10th year of FOODTECH, we have moved from the early days of individual showcases, to a fully vertically-integrated show, displaying everything from packaging to food processing industries. FOODTECH 2007 will host the following categories: Food technology and products, food and drink processing, baking, food packaging, freezing, refrigeration and cooking equipment, waste disposal and sanitation, CAD& CAM, analysis and measuring devices, restaurant equipment, vending machines, food additives and food industrial technology.
Industry trends
Food is a life necessity. The production and processing of food has evolved from the early days of manual labor to machine-processed, and from single machines to integrated chains and factories of machines. Also, with the cost of labor on the rise, food processing machinery is increasingly becoming automated as well.
Food machinery can be classified according to their functions into six main types: Processors of powders and pellets, processors of sticky food, processors of solid food, processors of liquids, general machinery, and custom processing machinery.
In most countries, food processing machines are produced for the domestic market, and some are exported to countries with similar tastes in food. However, with Taiwan's food industry at a high level of development, many large vendors have very stringent demands for their food processors; consequently much of their automated processors are imported from Europe, Japan and the US. With a small domestic market, Taiwan's food processor manufacturers produce 66% of their goods for export, meaning only 34% are for domestic consumption. In order to better satisfy the demands of the export market, many vendors manufacture processors for Eastern and Western tastes, as well as form strategic alliances with European, American, or Japanese vendors. The quality of the processors are assured by patents, the European CE standard, and ISO certification.
TAIPEI PACK 2007 is coming!
TAIPEI PACK 2007 unfolds at the Taipei World Trade Center Halls 1, 2, and 3 this June 21 to 24 to meet the soaring need of the global industry. This is warming up to be one of the most exciting prospect-packed PACKS in history with industry vendors and buyers filling the registration lists for the one event that annually redefines packing and packaging. The mid-summer show features 360 stalls - a 17% growth over last year's event. This trade show is not only the major trade hub of domestic manufacturers, but also serves as a springboard for businesses to expand into Asia.
"Think Green"; environmentalism rears its head
TAIPEI PACK 2007 has a green theme this year with the venue packed with packing machines and materials, paper containers, factory equipment, refillers, sealers and scales, printers, packing tapes, molds and packing pallets, storage equipment, food and medicine packing machines, bag makers, material control equipment, vacuum sealers, conveyor belts, and wrappers - all of which are targeted at being greener than ever before. Taiwan's representative vendors include Chyng Cheeum (packing machinery, sealers, filler maker), Chie Mei (shrink-wraps, sealers, vacuum sealers), Everroll (box sealers, box wrappers, palletizers), Extruders (plastic bags, plastic bands, hand tools), Great John Machinery (professional labeler makers), Tian Cherng (box sealers, box wrappers, palletizers), Sinlon Packaging (horizontal packers), UV Packs (packing material, packing machinery, miscellaneous parts) and many other vendors.
Three Shows in one, 2,300 stalls, great results!
In order to allow the buyers and vendors a better grasp of the entire industry chain and increase buying convenience, FOODTECH 2007 will be hosted with FOOD TAIPEI 2007 and TAIPEI PACK 2007. The three shows will attract over 800 vendors and erect over 2,300 stalls. This is an opportunity not to be missed for any food-related and packaging business!

The Liaoning aircraft carrier, two missile destroyers and one fast combat supply ship sailed about 300km southwest of Japan’s easternmost island of Minamitori on Saturday, a ministry statement said. It was the first time a Chinese aircraft carrier had entered that part of Japan’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ), a ministry spokesman said. “We think the Chinese military is trying to improve its operational capability and ability to conduct operations in distant areas,” the spokesman said. A Chinese ship ran aground in stormy weather in shallow waters off a Philippines-controlled island in the disputed South China Sea, prompting Filipino forces to go on alert, Philippine military officials said yesterday.
