‘Skipman’ sets world record
Philippine athlete Ryan Alonzo has set a second Guinness World Record in the high-intensity activity of jump rope, the organization said. Nicknamed “Skipman,” the 35-year old completed 3,731 consecutive crossovers, which are done by crossing the arms in and out while skipping over the rope as it goes around the body. The previous record was 2,405 consecutive crossovers. Alonzo’s earlier record was set last year, when he performed 40,980 double-under skips in 12 hours. That involves the rope passing around the body twice in a single jump.

Fury to release debut single
WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is swapping his boxing gloves for a microphone with the release of his debut single, a remake of Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline, for charity. The 34-year-old British boxer, who has sung for crowds at matches and performed a duet with Robbie Williams, plans to put out the track, a crowd favorite at sporting events, on Nov. 11 in aid of men’s mental health charity Talk Club. “Sweet Caroline is a record I’ve always loved, and I’m excited to record and release it,” Fury said in a statement. “It’s a great opportunity for me to give something back to mental health and hopefully continue to raise awareness for a cause that’s really close to my heart.”

Italy lock punished for biting
Italy lock Sara Tounesi has been suspended for 12 matches for biting a player from Japan at the Women’s Rugby World Cup, meaning she is to miss Saturday’s quarter-final against France. Tounesi was cited for biting an unnamed opponent during Italy’s 21-8 win on Sunday. The tournament’s judicial committee upheld the citing complaint, World Rugby said in a statement on Tuesday. “The committee concluded that the player bit a Japanese player which ... merited a red card,” the statement said.

Villarreal hire Quique Setien
Villarreal have appointed former Barcelona head coach Quique Setien as manager following Unai Emery’s departure to English Premier League side Aston Villa, the La Liga club announced on Tuesday. Setien, 64, has signed a contract until the end of next season. “Villarreal CF have reached an agreement with Quique Setien for the Santander-born coach to take charge of the Yellows for the remainder of the current season and the entirety of the following one,” the club said in a statement.

Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald and Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown on Tuesday announced they were terminating their relationships with Kanye West’s sports marketing agency in light of the musician’s antisemitic remarks. “Our family has made the decision to part ways with Donda Sports,” reigning Super Bowl champion Donald and his wife, Erica, said in a statement. “The recent comments and displays of hate and antisemitism are the exact opposite of how we choose to live our lives and raise our children.” Brown on Monday told the Boston Globe he planned to stay with Donda Sports, but on Tuesday said that he had a change of heart.
