Colin Wilson scored the eventual game winner to lift Nashville to a 4-3 win over St Louis to spoil the Blues’ debut of goaltender Martin Brodeur on Thursday.
Brodeur allowed four goals on 24 shots as the former Canada Olympic representative appeared in a game for an NHL team other than the New Jersey Devils for the first time.
The 42-year-old Brodeur was playing for the first time since April 13.

Brodeur was tested almost immediately by Wilson, but the future Hall of Famer made consecutive stops on the Nashville forward 50 seconds into the contest.
“You never know how [a game] will start, but getting some work right from the get-go, I was happy to feel the puck and feel the game, and feel the pressure of the team coming at me,” Brodeur said.
Mike Ribeiro scored his third goal in as many games and added two assists for the Predators, who won their seventh consecutive home game.
Filip Forsberg and Eric Nystrom also scored, while netminder Pekka Rinne made 29 saves.
Vladimir Tarasenko had two goals for St Louis, who have dropped two straight after opening their four-game road trip with a 3-2 shootout win in Minnesota.

The San Francisco Giants signed 18-year-old Taiwanese pitcher Yang Nien-hsi (陽念希) to a contract worth a total of US$500,000 (NT $16.39 million). At a press event in Taipei on Wednesday, Jan. 22, the Giants’ Pacific Rim Area scout Evan Hsueh (薛奕煌) presented Yang with a Giants jersey to celebrate the signing.
