France’s Tessa Worley continued her domination of the women’s World Cup giant slalom by winning her third race in succession in Semmering, Austria, yesterday.
The 21-year-old, a winner in Aspen and St Moritz this season, took top place on the podium with a combined time of 2 minutes, 9.66 seconds.
Worley, who has an Australian father and spent her childhood in New Zealand, beat the German pair of Maria Riesch and Kathrin Hoelzl.

Slalom world champion Riesch was 0.62 seconds behind, but reclaimed the No. 1 overall World Cup spot.
On 658 points, the German all-rounder now leads her US rival and friend Lindsey Vonn by 41 points.
World champion Hoelzl finished 0.78 seconds behind.
“Three victories is much more than I expected. My ski is much more stable this season and I can do whatever I want without many mistakes. That’s the key,” Worley said.
Asked if she had a New Year resolution to make she said: “If I start the year the way I finished this one, it would be nice.”
The Semmering program continues with a floodlit slalom tonight.
