Heinrich Haussler of the Cervelo team won the second stage of the Tour of Switzerland on Sunday after a 167km ride between Ascona and Sierre.
Haussler, who holds German and Australian citizenship, won the sprint for the line ahead of the Spaniard Pablo Urtasun (Euskaltel), Italian Marco Marcato (Vacansoleil) and sprint specialist Oscar Freire (Rabobank), also from Spain.
Switzerland’s Fabian Cancellara of Team Saxo Bank, who won the opening time trial on Saturday, retains the leader’s yellow jersey as the peloton prepares to head to Schwarzenburg in his home canton of Berne. Czech rider Roman Kreuziger (Liquigas-Doimo) remains second just one second back, with Germany’s Tony Martin (HTC-Columbia) in third.

After a good season last year, the 26-year-old Haussler, who won the 13th stage of the Tour de France, has struggled this season.
Last month, he was charged with drunk driving in Germany.
“My season has been disrupted by several things. For me, this victory has been like a liberation,” Haussler said.
Cancellara finished in the leading pack to hold on to the yellow jersey.
