Juvic Pagunsan produced the kind of electric golf he is renowned for to take a one-shot lead after the third round of the Kariza Indonesia Championship yesterday.
The Filipino fired a three-under-par 69 for a one-stroke lead over Thailand’s Wisut Artjanawat, who carded a 70 at the Gading Raya Golf Club near Jakarta.
Pagunsan, attempting to win his first Mercedes-Benz Tour title, had to complete the final two holes of his second round early in the morning due to a rain delay on Thursday, but he turned adversity into success. He birdied both for a course record-equaling 65 to finish joint second round leader with Wisut.
The 31-year-old made five birdies and two bogeys and leads the tournament on 12-under-par 204.
“Everything clicked and I am in a great position. It is quite a short course and you can make plenty of birdies and hopefully I can keep it going tomorrow,” Pagunsan said.
Wisut, a two-time winner of the Mercedes-Benz Tour, was in control for much of the day but made bogey on 14, 15 and 17. A birdie on the final hole helped repair some of the damage.
“That was a careless finish. I lost concentration a bit,” Wisut said.

Mathys Tel was hero and villain as Tottenham drew 1-1 at home to Leeds United on Monday — a result that leaves their English Premier League future hanging in the balance. The Frenchman broke the deadlock early in the second half to ease the tension at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but then gave away a penalty with a reckless attempted clearance. In the dying minutes, Spurs were grateful to Antonin Kinsky, who produced an astonishing save to deny the visitors a win. Tottenham are now two points clear of 18th-placed West Ham United with just two games left this season. The

The four-time NBA champion is now out of contract with the Lakers and would head into the off season
