Vince Young will miss two to four weeks with a left knee injury, the Tennessee Titans quarterback learned on Tuesday after the Titans sought police help in finding the quarterback the team described as “emotionally down.”
Nashville police were asked to assist in tracking down Young on Monday night after family members, concerned about his emotional state, contacted the Titans and said they didn’t know where he was.
He was found at a friend’s house and met with Titans coach Jeff Fisher at the National Football League team’s headquarters before returning home.

“Given the totality of the circumstances, the fact that Young had been emotionally down all day, Coach Fisher contacted the police department and asked for help in finding him to check on his emotional well-being,” police spokesman Don Aaron said.
Aaron said Young had an unloaded handgun in the glovebox of his car.
Young’s agent Major Adams said the entire incident was “blown out of proportion.”
Young, 25, had endured a difficult day on Sunday, when he was booed after throwing two interceptions and also sprained his knee in the fourth quarter of a 17-10 season-opening victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
An MRI exam on Tuesday confirmed the injury.
Faced with his absence, the Tennesseean newspaper reported the Titans had signed former Tampa Bay quarterback Chris Simms on Tuesday to serve as back up to veteran Kerry Collins.
