Washington rallied from a seven point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat NBA leaders Boston on Saturday.
Boston, who have now lost two of three, finished with 21 turnovers and had their lowest points total of the year.
Washington had 20 turnovers and made only two of 18 three-pointers, but led the rebounds 49-30, made 27-of-30 free throws and had the fortitude when it mattered -- in the fourth quarter.
Antonio Daniels made a three-pointer with 1 minute, 51 seconds remaining to give the Wizards a 75-74 lead and Brendan Haywood forced a turnover at the other end. DeShawn Stevenson drew a foul while attempting a three-pointer as the shot clock was about to expire -- and made all three free throws.
Pistons 103, Bobcats 100, OT
In Charlotte, North Carolina, Richard Hamilton hit the go-ahead jump-shot and two clinching free throws in the final 17 seconds to give Central Division leaders Detroit victory over Charlotte.
Hamilton, who scored 26 points, put the Pistons ahead 101-100 with 16.2 seconds to play. After Emeka Okafor was called for basket interference at the other end, Hamilton hit two free throws with 0.2 seconds left to seal Detroit's win.

In San Antonio, Texas, coach Gregg Popovich notched up his 600th regular-season victory as San Antonio downed NBA strugglers Minnesota.
Manu Ginobili scored 22 points and Tony Parker had 21 to help San Antonio nip successive losses.
The Timberwolves, who have the worst record in the NBA with just five wins from 36 games, have dropped 14 straight on the road.
The Spurs trailed 45-44 at halftime before they took the lead for good with an 11-2 run.
