Alex Tanguay scored the tying and go-ahead goals, and the Calgary Flames beat Minnesota 5-3 on Wednesday night, handing the Wild their first regulation loss in nine games this season.
Minnesota earned 15 of 16 available points in its first eight games, winning seven times and dropping a shootout decision at Los Angeles.
The Flames rallied after falling behind 3-0 in the first 10 minutes.
Jarome Iginla and Dion Phaneuf got the rally started with power-play goals in the second, and Tanguay tied it in the period. Tanguay then gave Calgary the lead at 3:46 of the third, and Robyn Regehr added a goal at 8:03.
Miikka Kiprusoff made 16 saves for the Flames.
Brian Rolston and Mark Parrish scored power-play goals for Minnesota in a 2:04 span early in the first period, and Wes Walz made it 3-0 at 9:41.
Capitals 5, Lightning 3
At Washington, Chris Clark scored his first two goals and Washington's juggled lineup produced the team's biggest scoring output of the season in a victory over Tampa Bay.
Alex Ovechkin had two assists and an empty-net goal to help the Capitals end a four-game losing streak and drop the Lightning to 0-3 on the road for the first time since 2000.
The Capitals entered the day as one of only two clubs in the NHL that had yet to score more than three goals in a game, a drought that extended 16 games to a 7-1 victory over Tampa Bay on March 18 last season.
David Steckel added his first career goal, and Brooks Laich also scored for Washington. Jason Ward, Paul Ranger and Martin St. Louis scored for Tampa Bay.
Hurricanes 6, Sabres 2
At Raleigh, North Carolina, Eric Staal, Jeff Hamilton, Cory Stillman and Bret Hedican scored third-period goals to lead Carolina past Buffalo.
It was Carolina's first victory over the Sabres since Game 7 of last year's Eastern Conference finals. Buffalo won all four games against the Hurricanes last season.
Rod Brind'Amour and Ray Whitney added goals for Carolina and Cam Ward made 19 saves to improve to 6-0. Jason Pominville scored twice for the Sabres.

At Sunrise, Florida, Olli Jokinen scored twice to become Florida's career leader in goals and points.
Jokinen's first goal was his 355th point with the Panthers and his second goal was his 158th. Both records previously belonged to Scott Mellanby.
