Alexander Semin got a natural hat trick in the second period to help the Washington Capitals beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 7-1 in the NHL on Sunday.
Tomas Fleischmann added two goals and two assists for Washington, which hadn't won consecutive games since beating Atlanta and Philadelphia on Jan. 6 and 9. Boyd Gordon also scored for Washington and Alexandre Giroux got his second NHL goal.
The Capitals are 2-1-0 since goalie Olie Kolzig returned on Thursday after missing 13 games with a knee injury. Kolzig made 30 saves against the Lightning.
Filip Kuba scored a power-play goal for Tampa Bay.
Thrashers 4, Sabres 3, OT
At Atlanta, Keith Tkachuk's power-play backhander with 38 seconds left in overtime extended Atlanta's home winning streak to seven.
Since the Thrashers traded for them in late February, Tkachuk and defenseman Alexei Zhitnik have helped Atlanta go 8-2. Zhitnik's seventh goal, coming on a power-play slap shot midway through the third, gave the Thrashers a 3-2 lead.
Buffalo tied it at 3-all on Derek Roy's 15th goal. The puck glanced off Kari Lehtonen's mask, apparently hitting him near the right ear. Lehtonen stayed in the game after a trainer attended to him. He stopped 35 of 38 shots, including four in overtime.
Kings 5, Ducks 3
At Anaheim, California, Mike Cammalleri had two goals and rookie Patrick O'Sullivan had a goal and two assists leading Los Angeles.
Rob Blake and Sullivan scored in a 1:32 span late in the second period to erase a one-goal deficit and give the Kings a 4-3 lead. Rookie Noah Clarke added a short-handed goal in the third period to secure the win for the Kings.
The three-point effort by Sullivan was his first multi-point game in the NHL. Kings goalie Mathieu Garon made 23 saves, including one on a penalty shot by Teemu Selanne, to pace the win. He replaced starter Sean Burke early in the first period.
Travis Moen, Dustin Penner and Selanne scored for the Ducks, who were 6-1-1 in an eight-game homestand.

At Pittsburgh, Jarkko Ruutu had the only goal in the shootout and Pittsburgh tied Ottawa for fourth place in the Eastern Conference playoff race with a victory.
Each team has 92 points, with Ottawa having one more victory and the Penguins holding a game in hand.
Using his backhand, Ruutu tucked the puck past Ottawa goalie Ray Emery as the second Penguins shooter in the shootout. Ruutu was used in the shootout for only the second time this season since replacing Evgeni Malkin in that role last week. He is now 3-for-6 in the shootout.
Avalanche 4, Sharks 3, OT
Milan Hejduk scored 19 seconds into overtime and Colorado overcame a two-goal deficit for the win at Denver.
Hedjuk's 45th career game-winning goal beat Evgeni Nabokov and came on Joe Sakic's fourth assist of the game. San Jose cooled off Paul Stastny, whose rookie record scoring streak was halted at 20 games. The Sharks looked well on their way to a franchise-record 45th win when they took a 3-1 lead on goals by Joe Thornton, Milan Michalek and Bill Guerin. Instead, they lost for the first time in eight games.
Stars 5, Coyotes 4, OT
At Dallas, Mike Ribeiro scored two goals, including the game-winner with 40 seconds left in overtime, to lift Dallas.

Sergei Zubov gave the Stars a 4-3 lead with 4:24 remaining in regulation, scoring his 11th of the season from the right circle.
But Shane Doan tied it at 4 with 1:33 left in regulation while the Coyotes had a 5-on-3. Phoenix was able to add a sixth attacker when Dallas was called for a delayed penalty.
