NBAGilbert Arenas poured in 38 points and Antawn Jamison and Etan Thomas chipped in with double-doubles to help the Washington Wizards snap the Dallas Mavericks' 12-game win streak with a 106-97 victory on Monday.
After opening the season with four straight losses, the Mavericks had been unstoppable, reeling off 12 straight wins, including a 107-80 demolition of Wizards on Nov. 21.
The Wizards avenged their worst loss of the season by claiming their first win over Dallas in seven meetings, leaving the Mavericks two games shy of equalling their franchise record unbeaten run of 14 games.
Washington received double-digit efforts from all five starters, Jamison hitting for 20 points and 12 rebounds and Thomas 10 points and 11 boards.
Caron Butler flirted with a triple-double, contributing 14 points, nine rebounds and seven assists as the Wizards improved to 7-2 at home.
"Our energy was up," Butler said. "We executed our offense and we were successful."
"I was trying to do everything. Trying to get off the ball, run the offense, and use my versatility as my strength. I wasn't trying to force anything," he said.
"Good things happened. My teammates were making shots. It was just a great win," he said.
Dirk Nowitzki paced the Mavericks with 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Jerry Stackhouse, Devean George and Devin Harris each had 14 in the loss.
The Wizards took a commanding 88-66 lead after three quarters but the Mavericks rallied in the fourth, slicing the deficit to 102-95 with just over a minute to play.
But the Mavericks could not complete the comeback as the Wizards held on to register their third win in four games.
Knicks 98, Grizzlies 90
At New York, Eddy Curry scored 26 points and New York won at home for just the second time this season.
David Lee added a season-high 20 points, teaming with Curry to wear out Memphis' frontcourt. Curry, who had his career-best seventh straight game with 20 or more points, grabbed 15 rebounds before fouling out, and the Knicks shot a season-best 56.3 percent from the field.
Quentin Richardson also had 20 points and Stephon Marbury finished with 16 points and six assists.
Spurs 129, Warriors 89
At San Antonio, Brent Barry scored 18 points, Beno Udrih a season-high 16, and San Antonio's reserves accounted for 75 points.
Tim Duncan had 15 points and eight rebounds and Michael Finley and Tony Parker each added 14 points.
The Spurs outrebounded Golden State 51-34.
Bulls 100, Celtics 82
At Chicago, Andres Nocioni scored 20 points, and Chicago won its fifth straight.
Up 17-14 in the first quarter, the Bulls went on a 13-point run. They led by as many as 30 in the third quarter.
After scoring a career-high 31 on Friday against New Orleans and 24 the following night against Washington, Nocioni was 8-of-10 from the field and grabbed seven rebounds against Boston.
Jazz 101, Bucks 88
At Salt Lake City, Carlos Boozer had 30 points and 13 rebounds and Utah's Jerry Sloan got his 999th coaching win.
Mehmet Okur scored 17 points and had 13 rebounds, Andrei Kirilenko scored 14 points and Deron Williams had 11 points and eight assists for the Jazz.
Milwaukee's Michael Redd, who scored 57 points against Utah on Nov. 11 and had 16 in the first half on Monday, went 1-for-6 in the last two quarters for two points.
