Mido scored the winner for Tottenham in a 3-2 victory over Blackburn in the English Premier League on Sunday.
In Sunday's other match, Georgios Samaras scored twice in as many minutes for Manchester City in a 2-1 win over bottom club Sunderland.
Spurs is five points from third-place Manchester United and five points clear of fifth-place north London rival Arsenal. Blackburn stays in sixth, one point behind the Gunners.

At White Hart Lane, Keane scored in the ninth and 22nd minutes. Blackburn pulled a goal back through Florent Sinama Pongolle in the 44th and leveled with Craig Bellamy's goal in the 67th.
At the Manchester City of Manchester Stadium, Samaras scored in the ninth and tenth minutes, five days after making his international debut for Greece with a goal in a 1-0 friendly win over Belarus.

Kevin Kyle pulled a goal back for Sunderland in the 25th, but it wasn't enough to stop Sunderland from losing its 22nd game of the season. The club is at the bottom of the standings and almost certain to be relegated.
Sunderland is 16 points adrift of safety and needs nine points from its final 10 games to avoid becoming the worst side in Premier League history.
Sunderland captain Gary Breen was sent off in the 85th minute for a second yellow card.
"My only target for the rest of the season is to get as many points as we can," Sunderland manager Mick McCarthy said. "We have to keep scrapping away and we have to stop gifting the opposition stupid goals, which stop us even having a chance of winning."
Manchester City started US captain Claudio Reyna for the first time since Dec. 26 after he recovered from surgery on his right ankle.
Chelsea has 72 points, followed by Liverpool's 55, Manchester United with 54, Tottenham on 49 and Arsenal with 44.
Roman Bednar scored the winner for Hearts in a 3-2 victory over Livingston.
Hearts twice took the lead only for Livingston to level each time before Bednar's decider in the 87th minute. Bruno Aguiar and Edgaras Jankauskas also scored for Hearts, with Richard Brittain and David Mackay netting for Livingston.
Hearts stayed second, 13 points behind leader Celtic. Livingston is at the bottom of the standings. The club's 20th loss was the first match in charge for John Robertson.
"It was very difficult. We managed to get the lead twice and they came back into it both times," Hearts defender Andy Webster said. "They showed a good fighting spirit but their manager has probably instilled that in them.
"It was a big game for us and we are delighted to come away with three points. They worked hard and made us defend, so we were happy with the win."
Valencia drew 0-0 with last-place Malaga, remaining in third place and slipping 10 points behind leader FC Barcelona.
Valencia extended its unbeaten run to 15 games, but its failure to win its last two matches has hit its hopes of winning a third title in five seasons.
Malaga, which has won only once in its last 14 matches, dominated the game at La Rosaleda stadium and almost scored when midfielder Ricardo Bovio hit the bar in the 50th minute.
Valencia right back Miguel and midfielder Fabio Aurelio also struck the woodwork in each half.
Earlier, Fernando Baiano and Fabian Canobbio scored a goal in each half to help Celta Vigo beat fourth-place Osasuna 2-0.
FC Barcelona leads the league with 61 points, followed by Real Madrid and Valencia with 51 points each. Osasuna is next with 46 points, one more than Celta.
The top four teams in Spain qualify for next season's Champions League.
Baiano scored his ninth goal of the season in the fifth minute after receiving a pass from Canobbio outside the area. Canobbio then added the second in the 72nd after beating the Osasuna defense and dribbling around goalkeeper Juantxo Elia.
Osasuna midfielder Inaki Munoz was ejected three minutes later after a flare-up.
Sevilla rose into sixth place by beating Bilbao despite losing ejected defender Ivica Dragutinovic before the interval.
Sevilla midfielder Enzo Maresca converted a 17th-minute penalty and, after Aritz Aduriz leveled for the visitors four minutes later, striker Frederic Kanoute scored the winning goal in the 61st.
Zaragoza rallied to beat Sociedad and add to the Basque team's worries of dropping into the second division for the first time since 1967.
Nihat Kahveci gave Sociedad a 10th-minute lead, but striker Ewerthon scored twice and Oscar Gonzalez added another for the visitors in a 15-minute spell in the second half.

Third-place Inter slipped 14 points behind league leader Juventus and also lost ground on second-place AC Milan.
Roma, which was trying to win an unprecedented 12th straight league match, slipped from fourth to fifth, one point behind Fiorentina.
The Roman side, which played without the injured Francesco Totti, Vincenzo Montella and Shabani Nonda, scored in the ninth minute at Stadio Olimpico when Rodrigo Taddei kicked in a perfect feed from fellow Brazilian Amantino Mancini.
Mancini, starting up front in the absence of usual forwards, was a steady threat to Inter's defense and nearly scored a second goal in the 57th. His volley went wide.
Inter's steady attacks throughout the second half produced a series of free and corner kicks which paid off in the closing minutes.
Materazzi, a tall defender left unmarked close to the net, equalized with a powerful header off a corner.
Also, substitute Gianpaolo Pazzini scored the winning goal in the 90th minute to help Fiorentina beat Siena 2-1.
Pazzini scored following a melee near the Siena net, giving Fiorentina its second straight win and 56 points in the standings.
Koke Pardo scored both goals to help Sporting beat Gil Vicente 2-0.
Koke scored the first goal in the 69th minute from a pass by Deivid Souza. He added his second in the 90th.

Eintracht Frankfurt wasted several opportunities and had to settle for a 1-1 draw against visiting Wolfsburg.
