Keith Primeau had two assists just hours after being selected to the All-Star game Thursday as the Philadelphia Flyers snapped out of a power-play slump in a 4-2 victory over the New York Rangers.
Primeau, a surprise choice to the Eastern Conference All-Star team, set up Sami Kapanen's tying goal late in the first period and assisted on Simon Gagne's score that made it 3-2.
"There are some areas we still have to clean up, but it didn't hurt us tonight," Primeau said.
Mark Recchi and John LeClair added power-play goals for the Flyers, 3-for-35 with the man-advantage in their previous 10 games. Anson Carter and Brian Leetch scored for the Rangers.
"The power play can be real important in this league," LeClair said. "For a while there that was the root of our success."

Ninad Malwade was the top scorer in the innings with 21, but he was among those who offered chances to the fielders. Shane Ferreira and Jason Cameron took three wickets each, with
This year’s Taiwan Athletics Open, which offers Taiwanese athletes an opportunity to compete against their international peers, would be held under a new name after its organizers had earlier announced the event’s cancelation.
